WingTrack · Wingfoil Tracker

Informativa privacy

In breve.

Li gestisci in Impostazioni → Privacy.

Viene cancellato insieme all'uscita.

Revoca

Puoi chiudere l'uscita in ogni momento.

  • il tuo nome utente e la tua velocità massima;
  • la data della sessione;

Uscite liveConsenso, art. 6.1.a
Classifica pubblicaConsenso, art. 6.1.a

  • quali marche e modelli si usano;
  • quanto spesso si esce e dove si pratica;

FornitorePer cosaQuali dati
Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Realtime Database, Hosting)Accesso, archivio e sincronizzazione, uscite live, sito webAccount, sessioni, attrezzatura, classifica, uscite live, registro dei consensi.

9. Trasferimenti fuori dall'UE

Alcuni fornitori trattano dati fuori dallo Spazio economico europeo:

11. Sicurezza

Usiamo misure tecniche e organizzative adeguate:

  • connessioni cifrate;
  • regole di accesso che limitano ogni utente ai propri dati;
  • link delle uscite live casuali e a scadenza.

Nessun sistema però garantisce una sicurezza assoluta.

12. Minori

13. I tuoi diritti

Puoi chiederci in qualsiasi momento di:

  • accedere ai tuoi dati, correggerli, cancellarli o limitarne il trattamento;
  • riceverli in un formato portabile;
  • opporti al trattamento basato sul legittimo interesse;

Puoi anche presentare reclamo all'autorità di controllo; in Italia è il Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).

14. Eliminare l'account

Scrivi a nathanreven@gmail.com dall'indirizzo collegato all'account, con oggetto "Eliminazione account Wingfoil Tracker". Entro 30 giorni cancelliamo l'account e i dati collegati:

  • profilo, sessioni, attrezzatura;
  • la tua voce in classifica;

In short. WingTrack records your wingfoil sessions. We use your data to make the app work and we don't sell it to anyone.

  • Your location is recorded only during a session you start.
  • The leaderboard and live outings are optional and only start with your consent. You manage them in Settings → Privacy.
  • For any request, write to nathanreven@gmail.com.

1. Data controller

The controller is Dioniso Reale, developer of WingTrack (Wingfoil Tracker) under the name onebitdev.

For any privacy question or request: nathanreven@gmail.com

2. What data we process

It depends on the features you use:

CategoryWhat it includesWhere it comes from
AccountUser identifier, email, public usernameGoogle sign-in
SessionsDate and time, duration, distance, speed, route, manoeuvres, motion data from the phone's sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope), computed statisticsRecording in the app
LocationPrecise GPS coordinates of the route, start and end point, spotPhone GPS, imported files
EquipmentBrand, model, sizes of boards, wings, masts, front wings, stabilizersEntered by you
Imported dataSessions and tracks from GPX files or compatible devicesFiles you choose to import
Weather and spotWind, sea, weather and place name at the time of the sessionDerived from the session coordinates
Live outingsReal-time position, speed, track, profile name (see section 4)Recording, only with consent
Live viewersA random identifier stored in the browser and the IP address; no account. If they comment, the chosen name and the comment textThe outing's web page
Live outing historyOn your phone: date, duration, riders' names and colours, number of viewers and the comments of every outing you took part in, with no positionsLive outings you join
Consent logDate and time, version and fingerprint of the text accepted or withdrawn, language, app versionWhen you give or withdraw consent
Technical dataOnly what is needed to run and protect the service: IP address and connection information seen by our providersUsing the app
FeedbackThe text you send us and the app versionIn-app feedback form
DonationsOnly the purchase result; payment details are handled by Google Play and we never see themGoogle Play

The app uses no usage-analytics tools, advertising or advertising identifiers.

If you turn on the Google Drive backup, it goes to your own Drive under your Google account. You use it to restore your data; we don't read it.

3. Location

During a session you start, the app uses the phone's precise location to record route, distance and speed. It keeps doing so in the background or with the screen off while the session is active, so the recording isn't interrupted. Outside sessions the app does not record your location.

When you import a file, the app doesn't read the phone's location: it uses the coordinates already in the file.

A session's coordinates are also sent to the services that provide weather, sea conditions and the place name (section 8).

4. Live outings

With a live outing you create a link, and whoever opens it follows you on the map while you're on the water. It's optional and starts only after your explicit consent, which the app asks for before you create an outing or join another rider's.

What people with the link see

  • Your real-time position, speed and session track.
  • Your profile name and the live status (ready, live, finished).
  • The same for the other riders in the outing: up to 3 guests, each of whom gives their own consent.

Who can see it

Anyone with the link, with no account needed, up to 30 people at a time. The link is random and can't be guessed, but whoever receives it can forward it: only share it with people you trust.

When and for how long

  • Your position is shared only while you record a session with the outing active. When the session ends, sharing stops.
  • The link expires 2 hours after the session ends and at most 12 hours after the start. If the outing never starts, it expires after 24 hours. If you cancel it, it expires immediately.
  • After expiry, positions, track and names are deleted automatically from our servers within 24 hours.
  • Only anonymous statistics remain: duration, number of riders, viewers and comments, with no positions, texts or anything that identifies anyone.

Viewers

People watching the page don't create an account and get no profiling cookies. The browser stores a random identifier, used to take one of the 30 spots and to count unique viewers. It is deleted together with the outing.

To draw the map, the viewer's browser downloads images from Esri, OpenStreetMap and OpenSeaMap and the map library from unpkg. These services see the viewer's IP address, not the riders' data.

Comments

Viewers can leave a comment under a name of their choice while the link is valid. Everyone following the outing sees it, and the creator can delete it. On the server it disappears with the outing; in the riders' apps it stays in the history.

History in the app

Each rider's app keeps a summary of the outing: date, duration, riders' names, number of viewers and comments, linked to their own session. It contains no positions, stays only on the phone and can be deleted from the "My live outings" list.

Withdrawal

You can close the outing at any time. You can withdraw consent in Settings → Privacy: sharing stops immediately and any outing in progress is closed. The rest of the app works the same without it.

5. Leaderboard

The speed leaderboard is optional and only turns on with your consent. If you join, other app users see:

  • your username and your top speed;
  • the session date;
  • the spot, meaning its name and coordinates.

People viewing the leaderboard can also share it as an image outside the app.

You can leave the leaderboard at any time from Settings → Privacy, and your entry is deleted. The leaderboard is kept separate from the aggregated statistics in section 7.

6. Purposes and legal bases

PurposeLegal basis (GDPR)
Account, recording and analysis of sessions, sync, history, weather and spot, import, backup, donationsProviding the service you request, Art. 6(1)(b)
Live outingsConsent, Art. 6(1)(a)
Public leaderboardConsent, Art. 6(1)(a)
Consent logObligation to demonstrate consent, Art. 7(1) and Art. 6(1)(c)
Pseudonymised statistics on sessions and equipment, improving algorithms, security and abuse preventionThe controller's legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)
Requests from authorities and other legal obligationsLegal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c)

Every consent is given and withdrawn in Settings → Privacy, at any time and with no effect on the rest of the app. Declining is as easy as accepting. Withdrawing doesn't make earlier processing unlawful.

7. Statistics and profiling

We use session, spot and equipment data for statistics, for example:

  • which brands and models people use;
  • how often and where people ride;
  • distances, speeds and how equipment use changes over time.

To do this we replace your identity with a technical code and reduce geographic precision. As long as this data can be linked back to an account, it is still personal data.

Outside the app we only publish or share aggregated, anonymous statistics, including in reports or collaborations with manufacturers, partners or researchers in the sport. Never data about a single rider, precise coordinates, or combinations that would identify them.

We don't sell personal or location data to manufacturers, advertisers or anyone else.

We may estimate indicators such as activity level or experience to improve the features. We don't use them for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.

8. Providers and recipients

Each provider receives only the data it needs for its task.

ProviderWhat forWhich data
Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Realtime Database, Hosting)Sign-in, storage and sync, live outings, websiteAccount, sessions, equipment, leaderboard, live outings, consent log. Live outings are stored on servers in the EU (Belgium)
Google Drive, Google PlayBackup to your Drive, donationsThe data you choose to save; purchase result
Open-MeteoWeather and sea conditionsSession coordinates and date
OpenStreetMap Foundation (Nominatim), MapTilerPlace nameSession coordinates
Mapbox, MapTilerMaps and 3D terrain in the session replay. Mapbox telemetry is turned off; only the active-user count required by its licence remainsIP address, map area viewed
GitHub (Microsoft)Running the automatic deletion of expired live outingsExpired outings, only while they are deleted
Esri, OpenStreetMap, OpenSeaMap, unpkgMap on the live page, loaded by the viewer's browserThe viewer's IP address

The people you choose can also see your data: anyone with a live outing link, and users who view the leaderboard. We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it or on a valid request.

9. Transfers outside the EU

Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area:

  • United States (Google, GitHub, Mapbox): the transfer relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which these providers have joined, and on the Standard Contractual Clauses in their terms of service.
  • Switzerland and the United Kingdom (Open-Meteo, MapTiler, OpenStreetMap Foundation): covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission.

10. How long we keep data

DataRetention
Account, sessions, equipmentWhile the account is active or until you delete them. Single sessions can be deleted in the app
Live outings: positions, track, names, viewer spotsUntil the link expires (section 4), then deleted within 24 hours
Live outing history on the phoneUntil you delete it from the list or uninstall the app
Anonymous live outing statisticsNo limit: they are not personal data
LeaderboardUntil you withdraw consent or delete your account
Consent logWhile the account exists, then at most 5 years so that consent can be demonstrated if disputed
FeedbackAs long as needed to review it and reply

Backup copies of our services are overwritten through normal rotation. We may keep data longer only where the law requires it or to defend a legal claim.

11. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures:

  • encrypted connections;
  • access rules that limit each user to their own data;
  • random, expiring links for live outings.

No system can guarantee absolute security, though.

12. Children

In Italy, people can consent to online services on their own from age 14 (Art. 2-quinquies of the Italian Privacy Code). Under 14, a parent or guardian is required.

The leaderboard and live outings, which make data visible to others, require you to confirm that you are at least 14.

13. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • access, correct or delete your data, or restrict its processing;
  • receive it in a portable format;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • withdraw a consent.

Write to nathanreven@gmail.com: we reply within one month.

You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Italy it is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).

14. Deleting your account

Write to nathanreven@gmail.com from the address linked to your account, with the subject "Wingfoil Tracker account deletion". Within 30 days we delete the account and its linked data:

  • profile, sessions, equipment;
  • your leaderboard entry;
  • live outings.

We keep only what the law requires, the consent log for the period in section 10, and statistics that are already anonymous and can no longer be linked to you.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app, the law or the way we process data changes. We tell you about important changes in the app before they apply.

If a change affects processing based on consent, such as live outings, we ask for your consent again.
